Bike Through the Lights

On Sunday, December 7th, ride along with Santa and take in the view of the three million Christmas lights and more than fifty Christmas Greeting Cards from atop your bike! This non-competitive ride presented by Concho Christmas Celebration and the San Angelo Bicycling Association, is free and open to all.  Santa will be there between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm.  Parking is available next to the Central High School tennis courts. Riders will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the entrance to the Tour of Lights at the intersection of Bryant Blvd. South and Abe Street. Cyclists will need front light, rear reflector or light and helmet. Cyclists must be off the streets of the Tour by 5:40 p.m. Call John Gonzales at (325) 374-9779 for more information.

 

Downtown Decorating Contest

Each year Downtown San Angelo, Inc. holds a window decorating contest for downtown businesses.  One lucky winner will receive a personalized Concho Christmas Celebration Greeting Card valued at $1,250. Click here for the 2014 entry form.

 

Christmas Cartoons

Enjoy Christmas and holiday cartoons, running continuously during the light tour, shown on a large screen at the end of the Tour of Lights on Oakes Street, December 5th through 31st, running continuously during the light tour.  Park your car and bring your blankets!  You are sure to make memories as you sit with your friends and family under the stars, sipping hot chocolate and watching these classic cartoons.  This year we will be featuring a favorite holiday collection "Animaniacs:  Helloooo Holidays."

 

Run Rudolph Run

Run Rudolph Run will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 5:00 p.m.  This event, hosted by the San Angelo Road Lizards, ASU Fit, the San Angelo Bicycling Association, and the San Angelo Lady Lions Club, will start and end at Old Town on East Avenue B.  This is a free, non-competitive run/walk open to all.  Join Santa and Mrs. Claus in walking or running the 3.0 miles through the Tour of Lights.  Strollers are welcome.  Enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate provided by the Lady Lions.  Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches are also available for a donation.  Call September Summers at (325) 374-0902 for more information.  Click here for this year's route.

 

Tuba Christmas

This year's Tuba Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 12:00 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church. This event is free and open to the public.  Plan to attend this unique and memorable concert event, featuring tuba and euphonium players from across the Concho Valley performing traditional Christmas songs.  For more information, please call Eric Hansen at (325) 654-5383.

 

Santa's Santa Fe Christmas

Open the doors to a winter wonderland of holiday decorations at the Historic Railway Depot.  Open 6:00-9:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, December 5 through December 27, with the kick-off event scheduled for Saturday, November 29.  Santa Claus will arrive by train at 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the 29th.  Admission is charged for this event.  For more information please call David Wood at (325) 657-4880.
