Calendar of Events for December 2011

Bike Through the Lights
On Sunday, December 4th, ride along with Santa and take in the view of the 3 million Christmas lights from atop your bike! This non-competitive ride presented by Concho Christmas Celebration and the San Angelo Bicycling Association, is free and open to all. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm.  If you do not have a bike, there will be some available. Parking is available next to the Central High School tennis courts. Riders will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the entrance to the Tour of Lights at the intersection of 1st Street and Abe. Cyclists will need front light, rear reflector or light and helmet. Christmas Cartoons
Enjoy a variety of Christmas and holiday cartoons shown on a large screen at the end of the Tour of Lights on Oakes Street, December 2nd through 31st, running continuously during the light tour.  Park your car and bring your blankets! You are sure to make memories as you sit with your friends and family under the stars, sipping hot chocolate and watching these classic cartoons.

Downtown Decorating Contest
Downtown San Angelo, Inc. hosts a Downtown Christmas Lights Contest that is open to all downtown merchants. An entry form must be completed and returned to Downtown San Angelo, Inc. office by Friday, December 2nd. The judging takes place on Thursday, December 15th and the winning entry will receive an oversized wooden Christmas card, handpainted with a holiday design and the business' logo. The card will be placed in the 2012 Tour of Lights (A $1,250 value).  Click here for an entry form. 

Run Rudolph Run 
Run Rudolph Run will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 5:30 p.m. This event, hosted by the San Angelo Road Lizards, ASU Fit and the San Angelo Bicycling Association will start and finish at the Boy Scout Hut. This is a free, non-competitive run/walk open to all. Join Santa and Mrs. Claus in running the 2.0 miles through the Tour of Lights.
