More Than Three Decades of Christmas Memories

What began in 1994 as a Christmas Lights Walking Tour has grown into one of San Angelo’s signature holiday traditions. Today, Concho Christmas Celebration brings together the Tour of Lights, Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Lights of Christmas Parade and special activities throughout the season.

Each December, families from across West Texas and beyond make their way to San Angelo to experience Christmas along the Concho River. For longtime residents, it’s a tradition passed from one generation to the next. For first-time visitors, it’s a chance to discover one of the most memorable celebrations of the season.

There’s More to Concho Christmas Than the Lights

The Tour of Lights may be the centerpiece, but Concho Christmas is an entire season of community traditions. Gather downtown for the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, line the streets for the Lights of Christmas Parade, enjoy live holiday music and discover additional Christmas activities happening throughout San Angelo.

Tour Of Lights

Concho Christmas Celebration proudly hosts the 32nd Annual Tour of Lights. This 2.5-mile driving tour along the banks of the Concho River displays three million lights and seventy-eight sponsor oversized Christmas Greeting Cards.

Tree Lighting

The 2025 Community Tree Lighting Ceremony is scheduled on Saturday, December 6th, beginning at 5:15 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Concho Avenue and Chadbourne Street.

It’s parade time again and you are invited to join us for the annual Lights of Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6th at 6:00 p.m. Join us in Downtown San Angelo for an evening of fun and Holiday Spirit. Santa may even show up!

Where It All Began

From a Walking Tour to a San Angelo Tradition

In 1994, Concho Christmas Celebration began as a Christmas Lights Walking Tour in the El Paseo de Santa Angela area. Just two years later, the celebration found its permanent home along River Concho Drive and evolved into the driving tour generations of San Angelo families know today.

Today, the Tour of Lights stretches 2.5 miles along the Concho River, where more than three million lights create brilliant displays and reflections across the water.
